The fifth annual Boston College Diversity and Inclusion Summit will take place on May 20, the Office of Institutional Diversity has announced. This yearā€™s event, ā€œTowards Inclusive Excellence,ā€ will be held in a modified virtual format due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Each year, the summit brings together Ļć½¶Šć administrators, faculty, and staff to reflect on and discuss issues related to race and identity at the University. The daylong event typically includes a keynote address, panel discussions, and break-out sessions; past themes have included ā€œTransformational Dialogueā€ and ā€œLearn, Reflect, Engage.ā€ Ā

ā€œWe believe that it is vital to continue to keep diversity, equity, and inclusion at the forefront as we move through these challenging and new times,ā€ said OID Executive Director Patricia Lowe. Ā ā€œOffering the summit virtually allows us to do so in an accessible and safe manner.ā€

Registration for the 2020 summit, along with event details, will be available at the Office for InstitutionalĀ Diversity website.
