Pine Tree Reserve
On September 25, 2019, Boston College and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) celebrated the opening of Pine Tree Preserve, a previously inaccessible four-acre parcel of land next to the Margot Connell Recreation Center and adjacent to the Chestnut Hill Reservoir.
The site, located along St. Thomas More Road and Chestnut Hill Driveway in Brighton, is owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and had been fenced off for the past 50 years. Through a partnership with the MWRA, the University agreed to pay for and maintain the site renovations now featuring pedestrian walkways, park benches, new plantings and irrigation, lighting, and a beautiful view of the reservoir and surrounding area.
