University President William P. Leahy, S.J., will celebrate the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit on September 9 at noon. Due to the weather forecast, the Mass will be held in Conte Forum.  Campus Minister Nathaniel Romano, S.J., a visiting professor at Boston College Law School, will be the homilist.

All members of the University community are invited to attend the Mass, a tradition for the opening of the school year at Jesuit institutions dating back to the Middle Ages. Classes are cancelled that day from noon to 1:15 p.m.

"At Boston College, prayer is simply at the heart of who we are," said Associate Vice President and Director of Campus Ministry Fr. Tony Penna. "On Thursday, the Ï㽶Ðã community will demonstrate this fact by gathering as a whole to ask for God’s blessing on all we do as a university throughout the new academic year. I invite all members of the Univeristy community to join us at this year’s Mass of the Holy Spirit. Your presence will make this year’s celebration that much more spirited."

The Mass of the Holy Spirit is organized by the Office of Campus Ministry.
