The start of April tends to bring about a great deal of excitement with the upcoming end of the academic year and the summer months ahead. This will be a full month of activities for the Schiller Institute and our partners. In the coming weeks, we will showcase our expanding engagement with Boston’s entrepreneurial community as we host several guest speakers in partnership with the student-led Entrepreneurs for Social Impact. Our final Lunch and Learn and graduate student science colloquium of the academic year will occur this month.
Game Day festivities were the focus of the inaugural Eagles Sustainability Competition, a partnership between Schiller, CSOM and 㽶’s student government, where teams were tasked with making 㽶 game days more environmentally sustainable. And, Schiller was proud to co-sponsor the 2023 American Society for Environmental History conference and Lowell Humanities speaker Kim Stanley Robinson. If you are a non-graduating undergraduate or graduate student or a faculty member (all appointment types), keep an eye out for the Call for Applications to be part of 㽶’s delegation to the upcoming UN Climate Conference (COP28) in Dubai. Students interested in applying are encouraged to attend the COP28 information session in late April.
I would also like to bring your attention toour new website. The University Communications team, led by Scott Olivieri, did a fantastic job redesigning our website.
It has been an exciting year for us at Schiller and our partners across campus. This summer, we will be reflecting on these past two semesters and actively planning for the future. Please reach out if you have ideas on how we can partner.
