Information Technology Services works closely with many students throughout the department. For staff who collaborate with students, getting to know them and seeing them grow throughout their years at 㽶 is one of the most fulfilling parts of our jobs.
We hope this page will at least approach adequately expressing how much we appreciate your work and your letting us become a small part of your experiences here at Boston College.
To all student employees from CIO, Mike Bourque, Vice President, ITS:
“A big thank you to all of the ITS Student Employees. You have made a huge impact on ITS and 㽶. Best wishes for your future!!”
First select an ITS group below, then read what some ITS colleagues had to say about the students we will miss next year.
Peter, “Peti,” has worked for the IT Communications team since his junior year. We knew he’d be an amazing fit for our team because he was already an integral member of the Quality of Student Life Committee, and had been working as the IT Liaison, providing feedback on IT services. As a communications major and marketing minor he’s brought a new perspective to each task we’ve assigned him. And most importantly, Peti has always brought enthusiasm and positivity to each new project we’ve worked on together.
Peti - All the best to you in the future. It has been a pleasure having you on our team!
- Sarah Sletzinger, Senior IT Communications Specialist
Three Cheers! for the intrepid Walk-In Help Desk staff manning the front lines of Tech/Printing support and continuing to serve the 㽶 community throughout these trying times. We are proud and humbled by the contributions of our EagleTechs this year!
As our campus slowly returns to normal, many thanks especially to the Seniors who displayed great leadership and poise under the duress of the pandemic. To the returning students, you will be hardened by the challenges you faced this year and will be stronger and wiser in the fall. We will continue to rebuild and reshape the 㽶WIHD to meet the new challenges. Congratulations & Good Luck!
- Mike McMahon, Senior Help Desk Specialist
It has been a pleasure having you work with us in the Help Center. Thank you for all your work. Congratulations and Best Wishes!

Ann has worked supporting Business, Planning & Project Services since her sophomore year, and I am going to miss her.
She’s smart, funny, tech savvy, and has always been willing to take on any task asked of her.
This is a tough goodbye, but I know how driven you are and it’s time for your next challenge. It was a pleasure having you work here, and I hope you reach your future aspirations. If you ever need any guidance along the way, please keep me in mind. I’ll always be happy to help.
Farewell and Good Luck!
-Patricia Favreau,Acquisitions / Fiscal Administrator, Business Planning & Project Services
Josh joined the Business Services team in January of last year and immediately stepped up to the plate and showed his great work ethic. Josh brightened our week with his shining personality and stories of life on campus and volleyball practice. It was great to get to know Josh both personally and professionally and I cannot wait to see where life takes him.

Ben began working at the law library in the summer of 2017 (it's trite, but time really does fly!) and quickly became a beloved colleague and friend of everyone on the staff. Over the years, the law library -- and the school community more generally -- has benefitted enormously from Ben's technical know-how, patience, and thoroughness. I am confident that I can speak for everyone at the library when I say that we will miss Ben's amiability, thoughtfulness, intelligence, and humor. I have no doubt that Ben will find continued success in his academic pursuits, and I wish him the very best.
-Alex Barton,Associate Director, Administrative & Technology Services, Law Library

Allee,
I want to thank you so much for recommending I hire Colleen and Emerson. They are honestly two of the best employees that have ever worked here. They’re kind, talented, hard workers, brilliant in almost every way, and...
Wait… sorry I realized I was supposed to write about you… hold on a sec… let me check my notes… umm… let’s see here… Allee… Allee… oh here we go... likes “Music and Lyrics” and flat tops…
Allee, your love of the non-award winning movie “Music and Lyrics” and desire for flat tops is second to none. There I think that sums it up.
…oh fine I’ll write something nice...
Allee, to be perfectly honest, saying goodbye to you is one of the more difficult student goodbyes that I’ve ever done. I think of you as a part of the OG crew and not just because you were physically here then, but because you embraced and embodied the spirit of this office long past then. You’ve trained so many students (which I’m suddenly realizing now may be why the work quality has depreciated these last few years), and welcomed them into our family while at the same time asserting your dominance. You’ve helped so many students open up and have fun all while doing great work and ruling them with an iron fist.
But more than that, I think I’ve gotten to know more about you over the years than any other student. I feel like I know your entire family, your roommate dramas, your love of every iteration of The Bachelor/Bachelorette, your intense fear of spiders, your even worse fear of being alone at the front desk, your worst fear of being alone at the front desk with the spiders, and your worstest fear of being alone at the front desk with the spiders while we all forget about you and go to the holiday party, and your even more worstestest fear of being alone at the front desk with the spiders while we all forget about you and go to the holiday party late because we forgot about you and then you still don’t win a raffle prize.
Thank you for being the heart of Video Services for so long. I’m truly going to miss you and our fun conversations so please keep in touch!
...except for Bachelor updates… I really don’t need those… pretty please…
-Nick Martel,Supervisor, Video Operations & Production
Colleen,
You are one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of knowing, which I’m sure is why you sacrificed yourself for the 㽶 community and put up with Allee for all of these years.
But in all seriousness, thank you for being an incredible employee. I knew that I could always rely on you to get any job done, and I always appreciated your desire to learn complicated video skills even if it was just to help out me and the rest of the team. Your friendly nature was contagious and I can’t tell you how many times GAs and other students would get excited and say “Oh! I love Colleen!” when they found out they were working with you.
Thank you for always being a great employee and be sure to come back to visit!
-Nick Martel,Supervisor, Video Operations & Production
Emerson,
I’ve had many talented video production students work for me in my time at 㽶, but few of them have been as dependable, professional, and jovial as you (yeah I’m not sure why I went with “jovial” either, but it fits so it’s staying). You’re the only student (with help from Colleen!) that we’ve entrusted to do a large creative project and the results were outstanding. I would hire you in a heartbeat to work as a professional staff member here. Your drive and skill are incredible and I know that wherever you go and whatever production roles you take on in your young career you’ll quickly become the best.
If you ever have any career questions or work that you want reviewed, please don’t ever hesitate to reach out. And if you ever make it big, make sure you remember your roots and get me early access to your movies, or send me your autographs (so I can sell them) or… I dunno... at least a promotional t-shirt or something…
Thank you for being an awesome employee and keep in touch!
-Nick Martel,Supervisor, Video Operations & Production
Emily,
Being the sole recommendation from Kim was an honor in and of itself, and you lived up to that recommendation. I’ll miss the many great convos and critiquing your videos of fruit falling from the sky. You won’t have any homework anymore, so I’ll be sending you a list of all of the great films that you’ve been avoiding and then require that you file a full report by this time next year.
Thank you so much for all of your hard work over the past few years and for always stepping up when I’ve needed to get an important project done.
Good luck and keep in touch!
-Nick Martel,Supervisor, Video Operations & Production
It seems like yesterday that Greg arrived with us in Classroom Technology from Scranton Prep. He has been a tremendous leader for us the past four years, and will be greatly missed. Greg is an older sibling, and we can see this in how he has mentored are younger students the past few years. His siblings are blessed to have him as an older brother!
We will miss our talks about basketball, calculus and all things Scranton. We hope you end up staying local next year, so we can continue to see you around campus, and especially at football games. We wish you all the best in the coming year, and best of luck with medical school applications. It's been a great four years having you with us!!
-Mark Benjamin, Classroom Technology SupportSupervisor
I've enjoyed Matt's help and time here at the Newton Office. He comes from a production/ communications background, and we share similar experiences him in Broadcast Entertainment TV and I in Broadcast Sports TV.
It has been Ironic that I've had a skilled video production person on staff starting in 9/19, but due to Covid we have not had a need for event recording and support for about 70% of his time spent here. I want to thank Matt for all his help with the Newton Office activities.
-Wayne Daley,Assistant Director, Newton Audiovisual Services
Paige,
It feels like yesterday that you started here, and yet for the longest time last year I thought you were a senior so this year has really been a bonus!
You are a tremendous hard worker and I always appreciated how you never hesitate to get work done and strive for great quality. Even though you knew so little about video production when you started, you became someone who I could count on to get jobs done when I was in a pinch. I’m looking forward to hearing where your hard work takes you in your successful future.
Stay in touch and make Weymouth proud!
-Nick Martel,Supervisor, Video Operations & Production
Anita has been a big help to our areas, and a joy to work with; we're a little sorry that we gave her a "sense-of-humor." She's a very quick learner.
-Ken Porter, Tom Wahhab & Ryan Yung,Technology Consultants
Manogya,
It has been my pleasure to work with you. You jumped right in on your first day and I knew you would immediately fit in on our team. It was great to have your technical mind and your problem solving skills to bounce ideas and troubleshoot with. I am continually impressed with all the work you balance, from your classes and internships to your work with your foundation. Your taste in music ain't bad either! Y
ou have taught me a lot and I hope you keep in touch. I know you will go on to succeed in whatever you put your mind to. I would love to help in anyway I can.
- Ben Tan,Technology Consultant
Mark was the first student I managed when I came over to the TC role from Recreation and I couldn't have asked for a better person to help me navigate my new job. He is extremely smart when it comes to computers, fascinated by how the work. A real tinkerer, Mark always seemed to find a way to resolve issues that popped up, oftentimes with very little input from me. It was so valuable to have someone as adept at technology as he was. I feel like we had the chance to grow alongside each other in our roles in Recreation.
Once Covid hit, Mark was reassigned to help David in Facilities & ITS but as luck would have it, a few months later I would take over the role as TC in ITS and once again, Mark became one of my direct reports and I couldn't have been happier. While I worked primarily from home, Mark was my "boots on the ground" most days of the week and I am very fortunate that was the case because I think right from day one, we've made a big impact on the ITS department and I certainly attribute much of that to Mark's great work.
Whatever Mark does next, whether it's in technology or not, I have no doubt that he will be successful and I'll definitely miss having him at 㽶. It's been a true pleasure and I'm so fortunate that my first 2 years in the TC role have given me the chance to work alongside Mark.

Sending a big "Thank You!" and "Good luck!" to Shannon Feng. Shannon joined the Voice Services team her sophomore year and has been a great addition ever since. She quickly learned all necessary applications and never hesitated when needs shifted. We're only sorry that her junior spring and senior fall with us were cut short. Pivoting to a remote senior spring work scenario wasn't ideal either, though we appreciated her willingness to stick with us and to continue to give us her best efforts. Shannon was a true pleasure to work with and chat with, making her all the more difficult to replace. We wish Shannon nothing but the best in all her future endeavors.
-Josephine R. Sullivan,Voice Services Administrator
