Small changes can add up to a more secure online experience. Ļć½¶Šć Information Technology wants to help you get started. Begin with these five steps to do your part and #BeCyberSmart:

1.ĢżKeep track of passwords with aĢżPassword managerĢżapp.

2. wherever possible, including your Ļć½¶Šć Google account.

3. Create strong, uniqueĢżpassphrases.

4. Keep Software Up-to-Date. Cyber criminals take advantage of vulnerabilities in software to spread malware. If you donā€™t update, you leave your computer or device at risk of infection.

  • Operating System: Run ā€œWindows Updateā€ for Windows, or ā€œSoftware Updateā€ for your Mac.
  • Applications. Make sure all programs such as Zoom, Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Office, are up-to-date.

5. Ensure you backup files you save on your devices. If you backup your computer and devices, you wonā€™t lose your files even if you get infected with a virus or ransomware.
