Keynote Speaker: Daniel Pink
#1 New York Times Bestselling Author of The Power of Regret, When, To Sell is Human, Drive, and A Whole New Mind
For the last two decades, Daniel Pink’s books have helped individuals and organizations around the world rethink how they live and operate. His deeply researched works on business, creativity, and behavior have won multiple awards, have been translated into 42 languages, and have sold millions of copies in the U.S. and abroad.
Pink has written five New York Times best sellers, including: The Power of Regret: How Looking Backward Moves Us Forward (2022) – named one of the best books of 2022 by NPR, The Financial Times, Amazon, and Apple Books. When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing (2018) – which was named a best book of the year by Amazon, The Washington Post, and several other outlets. To Sell is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others (2013) – a #1 New York Times best seller and winner of the American Marketing Association’s prize for the year’s best book on marketing. Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us (2009) – a #1 New York Times best seller that spent 159 weeks on the New York Times best seller lists. A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future (2005) – which spent 96 weeks on the New York Times best seller lists and which Oprah Winfrey gave to all 4,500 members of Stanford University's graduating class when she was the school’s commencement speaker.
Pink was host and co-executive producer of “Crowd Control,” a National Geographic Television series on human behavior that aired in more than 100 countries. His MasterClass on sales and persuasion is one of the most popular courses at that platform. His TED Talk on the science of motivation has been viewed more than 40 million times. He also appears frequently on NPR, PBS, and other TV and radio networks in the US and abroad.
He has been a contributing editor at Fast Company and Wired as well as a business columnist for The Sunday Telegraph. His articles and essays have also appeared in The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, The Atlantic, and other publications. In 2007, he was a Japan Society Media fellow in Tokyo, where he studied the country’s massive comic industry.
Before venturing out on his own more than 20 years ago, Pink worked in several positions in politics and government, including serving from 1995 to 1997 as chief speechwriter to Vice President Al Gore.
He earned a B.A. with honors in linguistics from Northwestern University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D. from Yale Law School. He has also received five honorary doctorate degrees, including from Georgetown University and the Pratt Institute. Pink and his wife live in Washington, DC. They have three children— two recent college graduates and a college sophomore.
